Setting: Modern Day. 2010-2013 perhaps? Located in Solarin - a small, fictional English city. Founded in about 1873. It never snows in Solarin. The coldest it has never gotten very much below 10 degrees Celsius. It can become pretty hot during the summer, however. There are seasons of rain.
I was thinking that Vorbrandt University would be the main place where our characters will interact and what not. It's a fictional University - well if there really is a university named Vorbrandt then this is not it. It's tier 2 in research and is a medium sized campus. Renowned for research in nanotechnology and all things nuclear, Vorbrandt does offer many disciplines and interdisciplinary courses.
There are several Nobel Prize winners and a large staff dedicated to educate and to inspire students. The student-teacher ratio is small.
The Mountain Griffons, the mascot, have not won any athletic championships, but they have been quite close to snagging victories.
Starting Plot: I don't really have anything in mind. Maybe prolonging the vampiric identity, I suppose? Otherwise go with the flow.
Other: You can add anything you want to the setting, I suppose.

Her twenty-two-year-old small hands held the camera steady. She snapped a few shots of some moths fluttering about a nearby lamp post before turning toward her dog who found his interest in the fountain.
Mirella Giuseppina Caruso, or Mira as her friends like to call her, squatted beside a famous fountain in Solarin Square. The city, Solarin, was not very big, but it was big enough that everyone didn’t know everybody else unless it was a person’s goal to make himself heard. Even for a small city, it was beautiful. Solarin was very green including the more metropolitan area. Compared to the surrounding cities and cities, Solarin probably had the most parks than all of them together.
That was all in Mirella’s opinion. She only lived here for about four years, but it seemed everyday she discovered a new park with Filippe, her black Labrador companion.
Right now Filippe posed cutely next to the fountain. His muzzle was above the water and his thick tail wagged happily from one side to the other.
Mirella took multiple pictures with her Canon Power Shot Digital camera and stood up to review them.
Her dark brown hair hung in her face while the rest was pulled back in a ponytail. She wore a yellow baseball cap that had a pickle on it backwards and a sleeveless top of the same color. The weather was nice and warm even in the evening. The ground dirtied her baggy jeans, but they were comfortable and would promptly be put in the wash to be worn tomorrow.
“Thanks Filippe, that’s good,” she smiled, taking a treat out of her backpack and holding it down for her dog to see.
VorBrandt University was out for spring break, and Mirella was determined to fill her portfolio with casual and professional pictures. She studied the fountain for a moment. The statue was of Solarin’s founder. If she didn’t say so herself, he posed like Michelangelo’s David except he was fully clothed and held a suit to his body.
Laughing softly, Mirella’s hazel eyes lightened up and the few freckles on her face were elevated on her cheeks momentarily.

Dark hair hung in his face as the man stared towards the novel in his hands. The Taiwanese man sat there with the novel about philosophy and the wonderful comments that everyone argued about as more of a distraction than to actually learn form it. He had read the book about two hundred and six times over, over the years. He couldn't find much else to learn from it, but he didn't have much else to do.
Glancing up, his light brown eyes shone playfully as he looked around at his surroundings. He didn't know why he came to the University, but he had decided he was going to be on a sports team. He got the scholarship and worked with it, learning whatever he could while he went into the world of swimming. He loved his competitive swimming and enjoyed being in the pool often, even if it wasn't always the best experience. He also was on many other teams, because his scholarship allowed him to. It wasn't a fancy scholarship, but it was a sports scholarship, so he did many sports.
Even his eyes, that were often mistaken for gold because they were so light, swam like the water he often found himself in. It was a skill he had always had, and it hadn't left him over the years. Swimming was second nature.
Letting out a small yawn, he stood up to his six foot three figure and looked around before giving a stretch to his tired muscles.
Danila Sasha Bao let out a small smile before beginning a small walk. His name didn't fit him, but with all the places he had been, he enjoyed the different names. It depended where he was which name he went by. He loved all three of his names, so often he'd go by any, either or all at the same time. He loved them.
Bao showed his true culture. Danila sounded sexy and Sasha was a family name he never lost. Simply put, he enjoyed the meaning behind a name.

Mirella took Filippe’s leash out of her bag and hooked it onto the Labrador’s collar. She led the dog where she wanted to go and Filippe followed obediently by her side.
Mirella walked along the newly placed sidewalk toward Vorbrandt University. The bus stop she needed to go to was a bit further up ahead. Miss Elizabeth was quite lenient about Mirella taking her dog onto the bus. Miss Elizabeth did have the courage to put her foot down and say that Mirella simply could not take her dog onto the bus because of certain allergies aboard.
Mr. Volgswen occasionally took the same bus to and from school, and he claimed that even being in the same acre as a dog will cause him to enter an allergy attack. Thankfully he was a chemistry teacher, and Mirella narrowly missed having him teach her chemistry 101.
As she was caught up in her thoughts about Mr. Volgswen exaggerated dog allergy and whether or not Miss Elizabeth had passengers who shared a dog allergy on her bus, Mirella did not notice the barefooted, hooded stranger point a gun to the air. The stranger fired her gun a couple of times. The sound made Mirella jump, but Filippe dashed violently in the other direction. The leash slipped out of Mirella’s hands after she had fallen down on the concrete.
Her eyes darted toward the figure.
“Give me the bag,” the feminine voice had said. The voice sounded like it was muffled, and Mirella heard a short click from the pistol.

Danila began his daily walk once he stood up and got his daily morning stretch in. Everyday was the same, but he liked it that way. Change was not something he enjoyed either. Major change anyways. Vacation or simple changes were always welcome to spice things up, but, of course, his daily routine had to be the same. He had to do the same thing on the days that he chose to do them, or else he'd be completely confused. And when people messed up his schedule...Not enjoyable.
As he walked, he noticed a furry friend running in his direction. How odd. Dogs never really ran his route, or on the way of his route. Seeing it as odd, of course Danila had to analyze the situation and wonder if whether or not he should do anything about it.
While analyzing it in the short amount of time he had, he noticed a leash and guessed that it ran away. Hopefully it did, or it was a very odd stray. So Danila hurried after the furry friend, trying to catch it for the owner. It was a minor change. He'd convince himself that. Not that he wanted to meet a person because it would mess with his daily routine and throw him off for the day, but he could deal with that...for now.

Mirella didn’t hesitate. She slipped the bag off her shoulders and tossed it in the direction of the shadow with shaking limbs. She watched the woman reach down to pick up her new bag. The woman opened it up and checked the contents. Once satisfied, she turned and walked back down the alleyway.
Mirella sighed in relief that her life was spared. She pressed a hand to her racing heart as tears began to slip down her reddening cheeks.
She coughed a small sob before rising to her feet.
“Filippe?” she called. “Filippe!”
The dog faintly heard his name and slowed down to a trot. He turned around and then noticed a stranger coming after him. He bared his teeth and his fur raised the closer the stranger approached. The dog began to bark and growl in a threatening way.
Hearing the barks, Mirella ran in the direction of what she believed was her dog.

"Hush puppy," Danila soothed, holding a hand out towards the dog in a gentle manner. "I do not wish to hurt you. I want to help," he offered, knowing very well that the dog would not understand him. Some animals seemed to understand when you got down to their level and acted like you were an equal. Some, not all, of course.
He found some liked being talked to while others completely hated it. But it wasn't like he cared either way. He wanted to help this poor furry friend that clearly was a little lost.
Danila stayed there, watching the dog carefully. He wouldn't be threatening. He wouldn't move forward or make any movement to startle the poor fellow. He'd just keep him here and safe. Maybe the owner would come to find it.

Filippe quieted to a growling, but he did not walk toward the stranger. Even after a couple moments the Labrador stopped growling and became a bit disinterested.
To Mirella’s discomfort, the barking had ceased but thankfully it was not replaced with a pained yelp. “Filippe?” she cried out. She slowed down to a walk and tried to catch her breath. She looked at the street signs to reorientate herself.

Danila sighed softly, still down on his knees ready to help the animal. "Hush puppy, come here," he soothed, trying to get the dog over to him. He held his hand out, ready for the dog to sniff him. He tried not to seem threatening, although he knew it wouldn't be to easy considering what he was.
He watched the dog carefully, just staying there. If he moved, the dog might get mad. At least it was seeming nicer now.
"Where is your owner, little puppy?" he soothed, staying there almost silent other than when he asked small questions of the dog. He tried not to make any small movements either...Who knew what this dog would do. He didn't seem to be a stray.

Filippe walked toward the stranger slowly. He then seemed to change to his mind. He looked the other way and began to go in the other direction. Deciding against that decision, the dog walked toward the man. He sniffed the man and then sat down before him.
Mirella ran her hand through her hair. She sighed softly. There was no use. It was getting later and later. She knew how to stop a rapist or any other suspicious person, but she did not feel comfortable dealing with them without her dog.

Danila smiled and looked at the dog. "Good boy," he chuckled, standing up. "Let's go find your owner, boy. Where is he or she?" he asked, knowing very well the dog would not answer. He smiled as he walked about, looking around.
"Hello! Did someone lose their dog?" he called out loudly, looking around to see if he could spot anyone.

Filippe walked back and forth without advancing forward or backwards. He kept steady eyes on the stranger. He no longer felt threatened, but that did not mean he was willing to follow after him. The Labrador looked around as if trying to figure out how to get back to Mirella.
“Filippe?” Mirella asked softly, peaking around corners and making decisions whether or not to check the alleyways. She tried to resist making too much noise. People were settling in at the moment, and she did not wish to be hauled away because she was “disturbing the peace.”
“Filippe?” she called out again lightly. She ran in the direction she believed he had gone and then stopped to see if she still recognized where she was or could recall how she exactly could get back to the university.

"Hellllo! Did anyone lose a dog?!" Danila called out loudly, looking back at the dog as he stopped. Stupid dog wasn't following him! Now that was very annoying! Why wouldn't the dog follow him? It''d more likely help him than hurt him!
Letting out a frustrated sigh, he walked back to the dog and stared down at him. "Who is your owner? Why can't you speak?! Why can't you be like the dog's on the telescreen and speak?!" he exclaimed, shaking his head.
Turning, he looked around, trying to spot anyone. "Did anyone lose a dog around here? Hellllo?"
