December 7th, 1941
I sat on my bed, watching the people walk by my house through the small window above my bed. America was so different from Japan. The customs, the clothes, the language itself...Why did I have to move here?
I sighed and hopped off my bed and started for the door. Maybe a walk would calm my thoughts. As I walked out of my shack-like house, the ground began to shake. I looked around, wondering if this one of those earthquakes that had happened in California. Suddenly, jets flew above my head and..that's when I heard people screaming.
The ground suddenly exploded and people began to run. I tried escaping to the safety of my house, but someone had knocked me onto the ground and crushed my hand as they stepped on it, trying to keep on their feet. I dont remember next...All I remember was more of the ground exploding and then...it was dark.
I woke up, lying on one of many hospital beds. I could hear people screaming and groaning, their injuries so severe that most had to be held down. My pain wasnt that bad. Actually, it was somewhat peaceful...It didnt hurt much, but maybe that wasnt a good thing.
A doctor walked up and put his hand over my mouth. He leaned down, close to my ear, and whispered so softly I was surprised I could hear him. "You're close to death, young one, but I have a power that could help you...save you. Do you trust me?" He asked.
I nodded, unable to speak. I couldn't see anything but darkness now...Then the pain started. I tried to scream, but the doctor's hand was still clamped over my mouth. I struggled and struggled, but he held me down with inhuman strength.
For the second time in my entire life, It went black. Maybe this is what death was like...Maybe it would pay off in the end...
Current~
I sat on my bed, flipping through the latest Teen Vogue magazine. Why was it that every time I wanted to relax, I had to think about my incident at Pearl Harbor? Smiling, I got off my bed and plugged my iPod into its docking station. I switched the song from Waldorf Worldwide to Runaway by Love and Theft. Then I began dancing around my room, singing in my silvery soprano voice. Dancing and singing calmed me.
There was a sharp knock on my door. My brother, Yoshi, as soooo annoying. "Keep it down, Am!" He yelled over my loud music.
I sighed and turned it down. I walked back to my bed and began to flip through my magazine again.
