"That is absolutely fantastic Gavalion!" Her eyes lit up hearing his absolutely wonderful news. It wasn't hard to show him how proud and excited she was for him since it all was displayed on her face. If they hadn't been sitting in a restaurant, she would have grabbed his face and planted thousands of kisses all over it from pure excitement. She wanted to scream from the table tops because she was so pleased. Not only was this a 'job' that actually made money, but it had been something Gavalion was good at and liked at some time.
She did manage to have a little giggle at the waiter's reaction to Gavalion's french. It was a silly moment, but it was also perfect. All of this was just perfect! No matter how biased she was, she could at least admit that she was enjoying herself today.
"Adventures?" she piped up, raising an eyebrow at him. Did he really have to insist on this? It wasn't like they could participate in half of the adventures she wanted to go on. "I want to travel around Europe! Even if it's just one country at a time. I'd like to go work at another art festival when I'm feeling better. Hmm... I'd like to paint my handsome model too! Maybe we can create a little treasure hunt around our area for the twins and we can just go walking for a while. Do those sound like reasonable requests for some adventures? I'm sure there are more we could do, but those sound like the most fun!"
They had been stuck in France for so long that she really did want to go out and explore. It wasn't exactly reasonable in their current state, but she yearned to escape. Going back to America was an escape, but it wasn't as fun as going somewhere she had never been before.
She kindly accepted the glass he gave her, placing it right before the one she had. It was probably best she drank more water anyways.
"All of my other adventures are just for you and me. Going out together to the hot spots of France, or wherever else we are, and just experiencing them. I read about a jazz bar in Paris that I thought you might like. It's more jazz than bar, but it sounds really cool. There's also different pop-up museums and art displays that seem really cool!" She doubted the three little ones would like a bar or a museum. Two of them would get bored and the third would cry at the noise.

Gavalion felt both confused and guilty that Raechelle lit up so much over a lie. Did he really hit rock bottom for her to be excited over him selling a couple CDs? He expected this type of reaction over him landing a gig at a famous stadium or something. A fantasy peddler didn’t exactly make him proud. He managed a smile for the wave of emotions prickling the air.
“What did I say about you worrying about them being reasonable?” he smiled, tilting his head slightly. “Besides, I said adventures to do before the year ends, not tomorrow. We start off small. I love you dreaming big, but it’s nice you like the simple things too,” Gavalion chuckled. “Let’s see if we can submit some applications and queries into shows and festivals for you. If you’re not up for it when we get back home, I can start the research while you rest up,” he planned. “Perhaps we can even get two birds with one stone: we’ll look into other European festivals. We leave maybe a day or two before the festival, get acquainted with the area, spend some time together,” the vampire mused, reaching out his foot and tapping hers lightly. “After the festival we spend another few days or so before coming back.”
He pursed his lips slightly. Though they would be lugging around whatever she didn’t sell and the tables and chairs and other set-up equipment. Perhaps he could find enough funds to rent out a separate room for everything. Hopefully by then he’d have a real job, so he wouldn’t have to be robbing corpses.
The waiter came by to drop off some bread, but he was quick to attend another table.
“I’m sure whenever we get around to that we would have met someone great for watching Lilly if you don’t want to take her along. We can do a treasure hunt before and after the trip, so she’d forgive us,” he chuckled. “That’s actually a really cute idea, and I think Lilly would like that a lot. Hopefully we can find a babysitter soon though. Having more adult time makes you glow,” Gavalion admitted.
“You can also paint me anytime, Raechelle. I don’t have anywhere I have to be.” He guessed she made that request to make him all flustered. Sure he wasn’t at the level where he’d throw his clothes off in a heartbeat or walk around half-naked, but he wasn’t as uncomfortable being nude anymore. Gavalion smiled. She probably wanted to subvert his expectations and tell him he’d be wearing at least twelve layers of clothing. He wouldn’t get hot, but he’d imagine it’d be extremely hard to move.
“Do you have any ideas for poses, or would waving my arms around like an idiot help your muse?”

Raechelle smiled fondly at his comments, knowing full well it would be a lot harder than filling out a couple of forms. She'd have to make a lot of work, which would take a lot of time, energy and motivation. All of those were hard to come by as of late! And on top of that, the work had to be something people would actually like. Throwing a few splats of paint on a canvas wasn't going to win the hearts of just any passerby. Unless they were crazy rich and just wanted to blow all of their money.
"I haven't thought much about how I'm going to paint you yet. A smiling portrait sounds great, but I'll probably just take my canvas out and paint whatever random thing you do around the house. Like you cooking! Live-action, still life, all of that jazz! I think it'd be cute and great practice." She shrugged a little, not knowing exactly what the plan was yet. She definitely didn't want to do anything too extreme, especially if wandering eyes caught them. For her, it was going to be practice. Could she paint someone she knew well? Eventually, she wanted to accept requests from people at the festivals. If she could get some practice painting the people she had around all of the time, then maybe she could paint a portrait of someone she didn't know. But those were all just dreams for the time being...
"You know, I hadn't even thought of babysitters yet. My mind has been too preoccupied! How are we going to look for one? I feel like I'm a little too over-protective and my standards would be too high for anyone," she laughed nervously, biting her lip once she finished laughing. They had special circumstances with their children. Would this person know about vampires? Would they be able to handle three rowdy children? It seemed more complicated than it should be.
"We'll figure it out, I'm sure!" She finally said, glancing down at the table.

Gavalion had called Envy earlier to let her know that he was on the way to visit her later that evening. He gave no details about the purpose of the visit, but he assured her he wouldn’t take up much of her time.
With a small blood splatter on the collar of his shirt, he arrived at her pop-up clinic. In one hand he held a brown pouch with a couple bottles of EXN. After knocking on the door, he placed his other hand back in his jacket’s pocket where he toyed with the red and blue pills Envy had given him. He failed to see any sort of effects from them, and he doubted waiting until the end of the week would do him any good. He wanted to take the EXN for himself, but he knew they would have the same effect as the colored pills after Ariel raised his tolerance through the roof. He should have enjoyed the feeling more. He underestimated the withdrawals. June had said he had possibly found an alternative, but the French narcotics officers were making the imports nearly impossible. Gavalion didn’t exactly have a valid excuse to leave the country. He was already ashamed for lying to Raechelle about how he made his money.
“It’s Gavalion,” he piped up in case an assistant was lurking around while Envy was in the middle of some operation or experiment of another. He thought that if Envy was busy with something, it would be one of her experiments. Would she take new patients? This clinic didn’t exactly scream “clinic” from the outside. Then again after the Myssett extermination, there wouldn’t be any other vampires lurking around in case his sister returned and mistook them for vampires wanting to reestablish the Myssett regime. She really could be here in case Raechelle needed help. Since he had yet to see Maurice, he assumed they weren’t staying together at the moment. He smiled faintly. Or maybe his sister had some qualms with him too. He would stay away from France if he wasn’t Valentine’s brother.

It had taken a few days to work out the kinks of the medication she planned to give Gavalion. Even though she was a scientist, she wasn't the expert in the field he was asking her to pursue. After networking around with various doctors and pharmacists, she at least had an idea of what to do. Her little blonde assistant knew a fair bit more about painkillers and advanced pharmacology than she did, which helped a lot. The young assistant wrote everything down and her so much knowledge stored in her little head. Shockingly, they were a good team together. She knew there was a reason why she hired this girl in the first place, and that clearly was it.
Gavalion's call didn't surprise her in the least. She had been working away at finishing up a set of tablets and pills for him when her phone began to buzz and dance around on the desk. Had he caught on that easily? Perhaps the medication he had been taking before was stronger than she thought. Either way, at least she was almost finished with the work she had to do for him.
What did surprise her was how quickly he got to her clinic. Maybe he was a man on a mission, or maybe he was just desperate. If the placebos weren't doing a thing, she could imagine how his brain chemistry would react. The man would be a little more desperate than the typical drug addict, which was sad. She knew he wanted his pills, but she was also concerned about what they would do. Could she wean him off them somehow? This would be more trouble than it was worth if she became his vampire drug dealer. She didn't have time to deal with the drama of desperate vampires.
She took her sweet time cleaning up before she headed to the door to let him in. With a bright smile on her face, she was ready with open arms to deal with whatever was going to come at him. He could be a wild storm or maybe he'd take the calm approach. Either way, it'd be interesting.
"Welcome back! How are you today?" she asked, being careful not to turn her back on him. He might be a 'friend' but she wasn't that sure of him.

// Happy \o\ New /o/ Year! \o\ xD; //
Seeing Envy at the door, Gavalion smiled up at her. “I’m alright.” A little impatient and confused. “I want to say tired from the daytime shifts too, but I’m getting used to it and Leo. It’s been strange to have a baby around again. Like an actual baby,” he said, combing his fingers lightly though his hair.
“I’m not here to waste your time about the tales of Leo though.” He held up the brown pouch and gave it a little shake. The bottles clanged together, and he hoped that stirred her curiosity. “I brought you gifts from the underground. You’re lucky that it’s locally made. I’m not the only one in the country who seems to have a problem. Narcotics control is working to keep the foreign stuff from slipping in, and it’s only a matter of time before they hit these back-alley streets.”
Gavalion offered the parcel to Envy. “It’s EXN. I don’t know what it stands for. I never bothered to ask. It’s essentially a poison, but if you know what you’re doing, you’d only end up knocking a couple years off your life,” he chuckled. “Luckily for us, we don’t have a life span.” He took a moment and added, “Yet.” If Envy could unlock its secrets to increasing a vampire’s vulnerabilities while isolating the dream state side effects, she’d probably find more progress in her research. If she could extend the effects, she’d bring the mortality back into vampirism. Would it be possible? One could only hope. Envy wasn’t too willing to use them as a test subject, so he’d have to wait his turn.
“I included instructions on using it inside the bag. The distributors are just that: distributors. I asked if they knew what was in it, and I either received ‘happiness’ or a shrug in response.” Gavalion tucked his hands into his pockets and kicked the ground. He guessed, “Maybe the method of ingestion could be of use to you.”
Looking up briefly toward Envy, he continued, “It’s in the instructions, but don’t be so quick to open it. It evaporates almost instantly. I’m not sure if you have any means to keep it liquified when testing. That’d be your best bet. Sorry for not being more helpful on that front.
“If you need more, let me know. I stocked up. Like I said before, unfortunately my high tolerance for EXN renders it useless in its current state. I’d need to buy out the whole country or even better find the source if I want to feel anything again.” Gavalion stepped closer to Envy. “It’s not much, but it’s the only thing I can compensate you with until I find some money. First round’s for the pills you gave me the other day. They didn’t work by the way. I followed your instructions and felt no better.
“I’m disappointed,” he said slowly, dropping his tone slightly, “to say the least.”

ooc/ Happy New Year =) bic/
"They were placebos, so if they worked I would have been pleasantly surprised." Envy took the bag of the unknown drug, careful to not drop it or harm it in any way. Later she'd have to take a look and figure out what to do with it. Maybe her and her little lackeys could find out some more information on the drug. Maybe they could unlock it's 'powers' or make a drug with similar characteristics. Who knows. She'd give it a good try and a half before jumping ship.
"I'd appreciate it if you could write down every sign and symptom you may or may not have experienced on my colorful sugar pills. I needed a baseline for what was all in your head and what the drugs were actually doing to you. You'd be surprised how many people can change their ways with a little bit of brain power."
Hopefully he had some insights to give her. She turned in anticipation of a little walk to grab a notepad and a pen. If he had anything to say, she'd want it written down in his own words. That way, later, she'd have an idea of what she was working off of. What did he want to feel? What was he feeling? What specifically did she need to target with her magic pills? They were all answers she'd have to come up with somehow. With his help it'd be much, much easier.
"We've started working on some ideas, but I'm not a witch doctor. I need information to work off of, especially since I'm not a pharmacist. I can research and fill my brain with lots of useful information, but I have to collaborate with others to meet my goal. You and my pharmacy loving colleagues need to work with me." She wasn't phased by his behavior. It appeared like he was trying to come off threatening - stepping towards her, lowering his voice. None of that could bother her, at least not right now. She could only do what was in her capabilities and if he couldn't understand that then he was out of luck.

// How's your year going so far? :> //
Gavalion straightened himself and followed Envy into the pop-up clinic. He tucked his hands in his pocket and leaned a shoulder against the wall. “They didn’t do anything,” he repeated, finding this little back and forth annoying. “You gave me something to help my so-called problems, and it was like me eating a brownie. It had no positive or negative effect on me. Hell, I didn’t even enjoy taking them,” he explained. “And if I’m being honest and this is being written down, I’m not looking for a drug to fix the health issues I supposedly have. You can’t fix a vampire. Vampires don’t break.” He clicked his tongue. “The vampire poison doesn’t count either. That’s just another way to kill a vampire that the everyday human can use. You might as well say you can cure a stake to the heart or remove holy water scars. You can’t.
“While you work on something to make a vampire more human physically, I want something that makes a vampire more human…” Gavalion took a moment to think of the word, “mentally. Get me something serious that makes my mind think and believe I’m mortal. I want to go crazy with excitement knowing I can run down the streets in broad daylight and believe I’m not going up in flames.” He closed his eyes and rested his back against the wall. He recalled in a softer tone, “EXN seemed perfect. You could slip in and out of bliss with no problem.” The vampire opened his eyes slowly and looked over at Envy. A crooked grin appeared on his lips. “You can be as high as a kite in one instant. Your head would be swimming in the clouds. The world was a garble. Nothing made sense.” He lifted his hands as solid as stones. “You tried to look at something, and it’d be all hazy. My hands would be trembling, and I couldn’t feel a single thing in my hands,” he said as he curled his fingers. “I was so clumsy.”
He pushed himself off the wall and approached Envy with his hands behind his back. “As soon as something in the world required your full attention, you could simply inhale, blink a few times, and you could pass off as a functional, contributing member of society. With enough EXN in your system, you could complete the task and,” he snapped, “just like that you can return to being a couch potato. I loved that Envy.”
Gavalion tilted his head slightly. “Like I said, that’s what EXN did for me, and it felt great. You know how people enjoy rollercoasters or a really creamy desert or a song that moves them to the core? Sex even. None of that does anything for me. EXN does.” He shrugged. “At our last meeting, you said I had self-esteem issues. You’re right. I probably do. I’m tired, and I don’t want to be here. Everything’s stressful, but I can’t leave Raechelle. I owe it to her to keep hanging on.” He looked straight into Envy’s eyes. “She didn’t know I was on anything until somebody told her. I want her happy, and she wants me happy. I can live a ‘fulfilling life’ and have this too. So please…Envy.”

ooc/ Meh. I haven't been feeling the greatest. How has your year been? bic/
"Write. All. Of. That. Down." Envy pointed at the paper provided then gave him a stern look. If that's what he wanted, he needed to write it down clearly.
This experiment was intriguing her more now than ever, but it would take time. How could she make a drug to mentally make him feel like that? She'd have to do research into the EXN he provided and into other drugs of that nature. There had to be a way, there was a way to do almost everything nowadays. If she could get in contact with some more professionals who knew what they were doing, it'd be even better...
"I had to get a baseline. Now you need to give me a little time to work and play with the drug. I'm sure we can come up with something, but it's not going to be perfect and it's not going to come quickly. We're going to have many misfires before something actually works. If you're okay with being a potential guinea pig on that front, then we'll be able to move faster with the testing. Otherwise, you'll have to wait. I'm not a miracle worker, but I'm going to try to help you." She gave a little shrug, glancing off away from him and towards a wall. What more could she say? She did want to help and her inner evil scientist wanted to play. Unfortunately, she needed more help.
"I'm not the expert in this field, so I have to reach out to my contacts. I do want to help you, both for you and Raechelle and for myself as well. This seems a little more fun than my normal work, to be brutally honest with you." If there was a way to get in contact with the people who made this EXN, she'd be more than ecstatic. But that currently seemed nearly impossible. Maybe if she hunted down his suppliers... She had too many bad ideas... This was going to be fun.
"You have to work with me though. Your mental health is ghastly. The drug isn't going to fix everything, so work with me. We'll fix your attitude up while working towards some psychedelic drug that meets all of your whimsies. Okay?"

// *takes a billion years to answer a question* I definitely had ups and downs these past several weeks. :') I feel like I'm on an uphill, so I'm hoping to keep the momentum going~! //
“Okey dokey,” Gavalion obliged with a sideways smile. He walked around Envy and picked up the pen with a twirl.
As he summarized what he told her in a bulleted list, he listened to the doctor’s thought process. The vampire wouldn’t mind if it took a bit. He had something possibly to hold him over until she completed the work. Gavalion paused at the mention of him being a guinea pig. She changed her tune. He looked at her expecting her to take back the comment, but she only continued. Envy meant it! His eyes twinkled in excitement. Perhaps he didn’t have to worry about relying on what June brought to the table after all.
He finished up his list with renewed excitement. Tonight was filled with energy it seemed. He’d love it if the momentum continued at least until he saw Raechelle drift to sleep. Too bad he couldn’t tell her the reason for this bliss. Well, he could, but he’d only end up killing the mood for the rest of the night and possibly for a few days. Laying down the pen, he spun around to face her.
“My mental health crumbled when I saw my family brutally murdered before me,” he admitted. “Instead of receiving actual help to recover from the trauma, I was turned into a monster and forced to live under the care of the culprit.” Tucking his hands in his pocket, Gavalion took a few steps toward the exit and stopped. “My own flesh and blood killed almost every vampire responsible for my family’s death, and suddenly I’m free.” He looked down past his shoulder. “Unless you know somebody who’s been on this Earth longer than I, a normal therapist won’t be able to fix a hundred and sixty years of damage.” The vampire laughed dryly and looked at the ceiling. “I doubt there’s anything left for them to put together anyway.”
So much for the adrenaline lasting to the end of the night. He sighed softly and ran his fingers through his hair. “I want to help you, Envy. I’m willing to be your test subject,” he said, hoping to lift the mood again. Gavalion looked back at her with a smile. It was void of the fire he had minutes before. “I’m glad to hear that this project will add a bit of flair to your life. I can sense the excitement in your voice. Just…Just focus on that…and you’re other work, okay?” he asked, lowering his hand. “I’m sure you have enough on your plate now. You don’t have to worry about what’s going on up here.” He gestured toward his head. “Raechelle only has to deal with my ‘physical ailments.’ If she starts brooding over my mental health, neither of us will get anywhere,” he assured her, beginning to walk toward the exit again.
“I wrote down everything on your pad, but feel free to call me if there was any other information you needed.” He stopped again with a hand on the door. “Thanks again, Envy.”

ooc/ XD Just gotta stay positive! That's what I'm trying to do lately. bic/
"Don't worry about it," Envy commented back to Gavalion with a small smile. She figured he'd at least like hearing some of what she had to say. What else could she really do? Either give in to try to help them out or give up and let them struggle. It hardly seemed fair, especially when she was extremely bored anyways. Her own research was taking a bit of a lull. Soon enough, she'd have at least half of what she needed figured out... But for now, she would play crazy, science doctor and hope for the best. In the meantime, she'd have to find some other 'guinea pigs' to test her drugs on before she gave them to Gavalion. But, he didn't have to know that.
She figured that she could lock the building up once Gavalion left. That way she'd be alone and could start into the research. A few conference calls, a couple research papers and maybe some experiments would get her through the day. Tomorrow she'd call all of her helpers back in and they'd really hunker down and get going. One of them could find some test subjects and the others guy search through all of the potential contacts for people who'd be willing to help. If only Gavalion realized the amount of work that went into this, but he likely didn't care.
ooc/ where are we off to next? XD I'm not sure what else to write for little Envy. I'm still juggling in my mind what to make the first batch do to poor Gavalion.

// Gav needs help, but he's too stubborn to get it :') He'd be satisfied with anything that gives him an out of body experience tbh lol.
For as to what to do next~ Raech could confront Gav about his new bad habit of unaliving people (I got that phrase from watching a Spider-man episode with Deadpool xD; ) or they could chill with the children. Raech could also run into June and talk about the house or Gavalion or life :') She could decide if she wants to be friends with him too xD;

ooc/ XD Deadpool and Spider-man are awesome lol Hmm... Well, I'll have to do a little digging. We'll have to give Gavalion something interesting lol
bic/
Everything seemed to be going fine. Sure, she was exhausted but Raechelle was considering today a win. Kory had gotten 'sick' at daycare which caused a real storm. By the time she got there, Kory was running around like a wild maniac and hardly seemed like a child who had previously been vomiting. Regardless, she took both of her children home since she didn't want the hassle of coming all the way back just to grab Lilly. The drive home was a little worse for ware; Kory and Lilly initiated a wicked fight over the fact that Kory had faked being sick just to go home. Clearly they weren't giving Raechelle a good enough headache, because soon after toys were being launched around the car in absolute warfare.
By the time she got home, she was ready to give up and nap for the rest of the day. Unfortunately, the twins would not accept defeat that easily. In a matter of minutes, she managed to drag both of the troublemakers into the house and tuck them into bed. If Kory was going to act sick, he was gonna win the Oscar for his performance. A cool cloth on his forehead, a nap and no access toys and fun would do him well for a couple of hours. Once he stopped goofing around, he'd be free. Lillian, on the other hand, was simply a grumpy mess. She too would get a little nap in before she got to have any fun. It sounded like a genius plan, and after a little arguing Raechelle deemed it worthwhile. All the while, Leo was being rocked by the battery operated bassinet and didn't seemed to be making too much of a fuss.
Raechelle stumbled down the stairs once all was said and done. With a small thump, she crumpled onto the couch to relax. Even just half an hour of silence would be nice at this point, but she wouldn't bet on that anytime soon. Gavalion would be back at some point, and somebody somewhere would need some form of attention. She hadn't exactly been winning the 'Mom of the Year' award lately when she begged Gavalion to deal with them. She really had to step it up...
And on top of that, she had so many things she needed to talk to that man about. His slip up, of sorts, about his recent diet wasn't sitting to well with her. Not that it was any of her business, but it was still causing her great anxiety. She knew better than to get involved in these sorts of things but she was a glutton for punishment. Why did she insisted on causing some sort of conflict? He wouldn't want to talk about it and she didn't want to fight, yet she still wanted to bring it up.
